What to Know

A Typical Day

A Typical Day-Leaving starts by leaving the hotel around 5:30 am for a 10 mile drive to the parking site. Our guide will meet you and help get gear loaded and transport your group on our UTV to the hunting blinds. Our guides will have all decoys, calls and field maintenance set up for you. The hunts will be pre-dawn to dusk so bring plenty of food, drinks and coffee. Hunters will take and clean their own birds at the end of the hunt. All of our hunts are pack in pack out.

The Blinds

All of our blinds are designed by legendary waterfowler Ralph Kohler. Each blind has four burner plates for cooking and propane heaters for warmth. The full metal blinds with rubber mats and cushioned seating keep your feet dry and your butt warm. There is plenty of shelf space in front of and behind each hunter and a large amount of under seat storage for blind bags or cooking equipment. Each hunter has their own firearm barrel clip to keep your firearm in the ready position. Each of the two side by side pits is 16 feet long and will fit up to seven people. The blinds provide a comfortable amount of headspace for 6’3 hunter while sitting down. Three large grated steps allow access into and out of the blinds. Thick broom straw keeps the blind out of sight until shooting time.

The Spread

You will have the opportunity to hunt over the largest full body decoy spread in Southeast Missouri. With our 4,500 full body SX decoys, 2 vortex motion decoys and 7 motion decoys in the field the birds are determined to have a closer look. Our guides have access to long range and short range electronic calls blasted by a 12 speaker system. You will be hunting surrounded by rice fields to the front and the cornfields to the back attracting birds from near and far to stop for to rest and refuel. Our field is located on the prime migration pathway.

What to Bring

Bring your own firearm and plenty of ammo from home. The local Walmart may have ammo in stock but it’s never guaranteed. The appropriate license can be purchase at the local Walmart. Dress warm in plenty of layers so you can take off layers as the sun warms the fields. Bring plenty of snacks and coffee. Please keep in mind we do not provide cookware, percolators, or utensils and you must pack out all of your trash.

Where To Stay

The Hampton Inn and The Holiday Inn in Sikeston provide competitive pricing and comfortable stays. There are several airbnbs and VRBOs available in Sikeston as well. The stays are not included in our prices and must be booked separately. We recommend booking as far in advanced as possible. There are also many local restaurants in Sikeston that will fill you up after a long day of hunting.
